Coal Quality

Current coal quality information and initial washability trials indicate the Baruun Naran coals are amenable to produce both coke blend coals and thermal coal products.

Baruun Naran coal is generally ranked high-volatile bituminous A. However there is evidence to suggest there are sections within the thicker seams (e.g. H and T seams) which will probably produce medium-volatile hard coking coal.
